There are two Universities viz., Jawahar Lal Nehru Agriculture University and Rani Durgawati University and other institute like Telecom Training Centre, College of Materials Management, Signal Training Center and many more colleges and institutions in various faculties. The city of Jabalpur is situated in the heart of the country on Bombay- Calcutta Railway line. The city is linked with the major cities of the country by road through National Highways NH-7 and NH-12, apart from state highway SH-27. The city is almost midway between Mumbai and Kolkata and has direct trains to all the metropolitan cities of the country. It also has air connectivity  with Delhi. The nearest International airport is at Nagpur.
